Good evening and welcome to a new episode. Where else? in enchanting Crete!
Today we are taking pictures in Ederi. For those who do not know the place, Ederi is located two kilometers from Kato Gouves at an altitude of 300 meters and offers an incredible view. I recommend visiting the place at sunset, as the light is incredible.
You will find the ruins of various buildings of the American base. A radar was installed here in the sixties which was operational until the base was abandoned. At most of the buildings you can go inside, I recommend it to those who like to photograph abandoned buildings, because there is quite a lot of impressive photos to take here. I took a picture or two to give you an idea. The radar no longer exists, having been sold for scrap.
I went up there in August, with a very good friend Kostas, to take pictures. We were enchanted by the scenery. The view as I said above is beautiful and you are more likely to find couples up there than photographers. But it’s not only the view that is magical but also the buildings that exist. We don’t know what happened here, but at the past there was life and you can feel it walking around this place. Come here and let your imagination free, trying to imagine how was the life here. The place is peaceful and you can relax and enjoy the tranquility of the landscape.
As always, I leave you with a gallery, click on the photos in order to see them in full size.
